Sage is the pup we kept from our A litter out of Kindle and Stone Pine’s Blue. Her sire resides in Oregon and comes from one of the last litters that the late Bodo Winterhelt (largely given credit for bringing the Pudelpointer to North America) ordained before his passing. Sage is proving to have inherited the traits we were hoping for with this breeding. She has been endowed with speed and can quickly cover a field. She points with an intensity that the most discriminating sportsman (or woman) can appreciate, and naturally honors other dogs on point. From 6 months of age, and without any real steadiness training, she has allowed the gunner to move to the front and flush her pointed birds. She has the cooperation, trainability and water love of her mother. By 1 year of age she was reliably crossing in excess of 100 yards of water to retrieve ducks on the far bank. She has a wonderful temperament and is affectionate by nature.
