Beau is a very nice dog that covers the terrain well and is a strong retriever on both land and water. He is genetically endowed with strong pointing instincts in the uplands and won’t give up easily when chasing a diving duck. As a testament to his endurance and drive I’ll now share a short story.

During his first hunting season he was taken on a out of state pheasant hunting trip with a fairly large group of hunters. Before the hunt, the group was asked to please be patient with the young dog because due to his young age and inexperience it was unknown how he would do. Beau proceeded to cover the ground in front of the entire line of hunters all day. He had a few points for the day on this wiley species and retrieved a few to hand. By day 2, the labs owned by other hunters, were walking by their owners. Not Beau, the combination of his desire and endurance kept him going each day, and by day 3 he was retrieving three-fourth’s of all the downed birds to hand despite several other dogs being on the ground as well. By the end of the hunting trip, some of Tim’s friends were asking him a question that all Pudelpointer owners love to be asked in this sort of scenerio, “What kind of dog is that again?!!”

Beau has been placed with Tim Woolery here in OK and Cross Timber Gundogs Co-owns this young male. We are very appreciative to Tim for being willing to work with our breeding program in this way. Working with folks like Tim serves to propel forward our breeding program in ways that would be impossible otherwise.
